Charli XCX declared the dance floor dead — and then set it on fire anyway. The pop star’s official video for “Rock Music”, her guitar-driven pivot away from club sounds, follows her through a chaotic, black-and-white-to-colour New York night, crashing a rock gig with her real-life husband along for the ride.
The single leads the charge for her rock-leaning new era, arriving between her Wuthering Heights soundtrack work and her headline-closing set at this weekend’s Austin City Limits festival.
